I find cuteness one of the best aspects of anime. People need to give “moe” anime a chance. I know a lot of people, especially fans of shounen anime like One Piece or Naruto, or “classic” fans of shows like Cowboy Bebop see alleged “moeshit” as a current cancer upon the industry, but they are wrong. The fact is most of the people who bash it haven’t even given these shows a chance (or at most 1 or 2 episodes). I am fan of nearly all anime, and you need to give these shows a chance—yes, even the infamous Lucky Star (which many argue started the moe craze in the first place). Slice-of-life ad cute girls doing cute things aren’t leaving the anime industry anytime soon, so you all should learn to accept it and enjoy the ride.
K-ON! was cute and moe at the same time. It sells since people love cute girls being moe and doing cute things. Most of the people who say it’s “ruining” Anime should take a seat and realize that it’s not going anywhere anytime soon. It sells in the Anime industry and it will be that way, just like how girls with balloon breasts help sell a certain franchise if the main theme is big breasts.
